About the Instructors ~
karol & Guy Monroe Bridge Instructors
Karol and Guy Monroe are ACBL certified bridge instructors and directors and are actively involved in teaching, promoting bridge education, and mentoring new and advancing players.
The Monroes retired from the Seattle area in 2000 and relocated to the scenic Oregon Coast. In her position of Education Liaison to the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) for the geographical area of District 20 (Oregon, Southern Washington, Northern California, and Hawaii), Karol offers education programs, support and expertise to fellow bridge teachers. Karol has worked extensively with well known bridge educator and author, Audrey Grant, and is one of several teacher trainers in the Better Bridge organization. Guy serves on the ACBL District 20 Board of Directors, teaches bridge classes, and trains directors for the ACBL. In the summer months, Guy is an Oregon State Parks naturalist. Guy and Karol compete in tournaments nationwide and have achieved the ACBL ranking of Gold Life Master. ~ The exclusive bridge cruise program offered by the Monroes features ~ · Audrey Grant’s Better Bridge multi-level materials for beginning and advancing players. The classes are a combination of lecture, hands-on bidding and play, followed by interactive discussion. · Twice daily duplicate games are offered every day ~ at sea and in port. Play as frequently as you wish! · Hosted cocktail parties, private card room onboard the ships, group travel, dining. · Singles welcome ! Karol and Guy enjoy and treasure the many new friends they have made while traveling and playing bridge, and invite you to share their enthusiasm and knowledge of this most intriguing card game.
